Singer Chris Brown released a video yesterday asking his fans’ forgiveness regarding his beating and abuse of singer Rihanna.
Brown pleaded guilty in June to felony assault and was sentenced to five years supervised probation and community service. He was also ordered to stay away from Rihanna.
The incident was reported on February 8, 2009 and now calls his actions “inexcusable.” According to Brown, he has remained silent until now due to advice from his attorneys.
Brown’s apology has received mixed reactions from fans as well as from those in Hollywood.
Brown is going for counseling to work on anger issues. He also mentioned in the video that he has witnessed domestic violence first-hand by his father beating his mother by saying,”As many of you know, I grew up in a home where there was domestic violence and I saw first hand what uncontrolled rage could do. I have sought and am continuing to seek help to ensure that what occurred in February can never happen again and as I sit here today, I can tell you that I will do everything in my power to make sure that it never happens again and I promise that.”
